An Under the Sea Birthday Party

Last month my Noah Boah turned 1! We had so much fun at his under the sea birthday party! I just wanted to give you some ideas for an Under the Sea Birthday party in case you are interested in throwing one!

First I'll start with the decorations. I started out with a seaweed ceiling that went down my hall way. I taped pieces of green streamers from the ceiling and printed out fish, starfish and seahorses and hung them in between the streamers. I couldn't get a picture to give this idea justice but here is a picture none the less:

Moving on to the living room I made these cute jelly fish to hang on the ceiling. All you do is blow up a balloon, draw a smiley face on it and tape streamers from the bottom of the balloon to create the jelly fish. Here is a picture of how they turned out:

I also put nets and fish up around the house as well:

I also wanted to put pictures of Noah from birth to age 1 somewhere in the house and I came up with this little idea:

For games I just bought a magnet fishing set for the kids to play. You can find these at dollar stores if it is the right season. SIDE NOTE: If you are having this party in the winter you might want to think ahead and buy decorations and such during the summer when the dollar store is FILLED with stuff perfect for a party like this.

In the kitchen I set up a drink area. I used bamboo for the background and then I made a bubble and sea horse decoration to put over the drink area. Unfortunately I did not get a picture of this area but I did get a picture of the cups I made. I just printed out a starfish that I photo shopped a 1 on and then glued them to paper cups.

For food we served the following and gave them under the sea names:

Sea Urchin Spines: Pretzels
Sea Turtle Eggs: Meatballs
Sea Shell Salad: Pasta Salad
Peanut Butter and Jellyfish Sandwiches: Good ol' PB&J

And my favorite: Crabby Cupcakes.

I'll do a tutorial on how to make those super cute crab cupcake toppers another day so check back if you are interested!

And this blog post wouldn't be complete without one picture of the birthday boy enjoying his first cupcake. I can't believe he's already one!

Oh and by the way all the print outs I used was from this e-scrapbooking kit I purchased here. Happy Planning!
